Britney Spears is slated to perform in Israel for the first time on July 3 at Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park. And as it turns out, this concert is such a big deal that it takes precedent over the Israeli Labor Party’s hotly contested primary, which pushed back their election originally scheduled for the  same day to July 4.

The party’s elections committee says their decision was based on concerns over heavy traffic due to an influx of concertgoers making it difficult for voters to reach polling stations, on top of lacking available security guards available to work both events according to the Times of Israel. It’s probably the right call, since Britney Spears is undoubtedly more popular than the democratic process these days.
