Mariah Carey paid tribute to the late George Michael during her appearance at this year's Dubai Jazz Festival, where she performed a cover of his 1988 hit ballad "One More Try." While the show took place in late February, Carey just shared a high-res video from her set as a #FBF (flashback Friday) post on Facebook Friday evening (March 31).

“I always loved it, I always loved him. He was a really great person," Carey -- who recorded the track for 2014's Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse album -- is heard telling the audience in the clip below. "So we’ll make it through this."

The English singer, songwriter and record producer passed away at the age of 53 on Christmas morning (2016) due to heart failure.

Soon after Michael's death, a note honoring the singer was posted on Carey's website. "George was not only a great musician, he was an active ambassador in the LBGTQ community, pushing for greater understanding, acceptance, and love for all people. He touched so many lives and inspired us all. 'One More Try' on Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse is a tribute to his influence, in many ways," the message read. "George Michael was an original. He changed music and his music changed lives. We'll continue to mourn the loss of an incredible artist and friend but his music will keep us smiling and dancing, forever."
