San Francisco Electro-Pop Duo Cathedrals Triumphantly Return With 'Don't Act Like A Stranger': Exclusive Premiere

"I want to be yours tonight"

Enigmatic San Francisco-based electro-pop duo Cathedrals first surged onto the hype machine back in 2014, when their debut self-titled EP -- featuring standouts like "Harlem" and "OOO AAA" -- was released via tastemaker imprint Neon Gold Records (Christine and the Queens, Charli XCX, Tove Lo), netting nearly 20 million spins on Spotify to date.

Today, the buzzy duo -- comprised of producer Johnny Hwin and vocalist Brodie Jenkins -- returns, this time independently, with the first single from their new set, "Don't Act Like A Stranger," premiering exclusively via Billboard.

"'Don’t Act Like a Stranger' is a reflection of our very different states of mind at the time it was written. The title line came from Johnny's heartbreak resulting from the end of a very close relationship," Brodie tells Billboard. "I was in a euphoric state of mind having just gotten married following our last tour so I endowed the lyrics with a resilience and strength to counter the sorrow. For us, this song is the outcome of the simultaneous pain from a lost love, but strengthened by a type of resilient hopefulness."
