Ed Sheeran got very candid during an interview with Beats 1's Zane Lowe on Tuesday (Jan. 17), revealing that he's more than ready to have kids. “I wanted to be a dad, like, last year,” the the 25-year-old singer/songwriter told Lowe. “I’m ready, I'm ready, let's go, let’s go -- tour bus babies, little fat, chubby babies that just walk around.”

Sheeran’s dreams may not be so far off, as the singer’s been with his girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn, for two years. In fact, the pair are so serious, that’s what sparked his recently concluded year away from music.

“So the catalyst for taking a year off was also the fact that my partner, she quit her job in New York -- which she’s now got back in London, which is kind of cool,” explained Sheeran. “We were basically like, ‘Let’s both quit our jobs and let’s have a year of forming a tight bond and a relationship.’ So we went traveling and spent every day for a year together.”

Following their year of wanderlust, Sheeran appears optimistic about the current status of their relationship. “We’re very, very strong. I’ve never been happier. I’ve never been more comfortable. I’ve never been more inspired,” he said.

His year out of the spotlight seems to have done him well, as Sheeran's emerged with a strong relationship, undeniably catchy new music, oh, and a secret pub attached to his house.

“So basically there’s an underground tunnel to get there that you can close off,” Sheeran revealed about his subterranean drinking establishment. “So if I have a party everyone goes in the pub and then no one can get in the house. So you get no one raiding the cupboards or smashing anything.”
