Ed Sheeran's 12 Most Provocative Lyrics

Ed Sheeran is back with two new songs that have been taking the world by storm, topping iTunes and garnering a combined 10 million views less than 24 hours of being released Friday (Jan. 6).

But while "Shape of You" is making some fans want to hit the dance floor and "Castle on the Hill" has others belting out its passionate chorus, what listeners may not have realized upon the first few listens is just how PG-13 some of the lyrics are. "Shape of You" is provocative in a sexually charged sense, while the explicitness of "Castle on the Hill" is a bit more masked behind the mystical uptempo melody.

This applies to many of the British singer's songs, and we thought we'd sift through all of them to see what other scandalous lines we could find. Whether Sheeran is singing about late-night meet-ups, getting drunk with his friends or simply being sassy, take a look at his most provocative lyrics to date.

"Drunk"

I wanna be drunk when I wake up / On the right side of the wrong bed

"The Man"

You never changed your mind / But you were just afraid to mind out / But f--- it, I won't be changing the subject, I love it / I'll make your little secret public, it's nothing / I'm just disgusted with the skeletons you sleep with in your closet to get back at me

"Castle on the Hill"

Fifteen years old and smoking hand-rolled cigarettes / Running from the law through the backfields and getting drunk with my friends

"Sunburn"

You’re not her / Though I try to see you differently / I tow the line / You see, I’m searching for what used to be mine

"Nina"

Just watching a DVD, smoking illegal weed / Getting high as two kites when we needed to breathe / We'd use each other's air just for the people to see / And stay up all night like when we needed to sleep

"Bloodstream"

I've been spinning now for time / Couple women by my side / I got sinning on my mind / Sipping on red wine

"The A Team"

And go mad for a couple grams / And she don't want to go outside tonight / And in a pipe she flies to the Motherland / Or sells love to another man

"Sing"

If you love me / Come on, get involved / Feel it rushing through you / From your head to toe

"Kiss Me"

My heart's against your chest, your lips pressed to my neck / I'm falling for your eyes, but they don't know me yet

"Don't"

Maybe you could swing by my room around 10:00 / Baby, bring a lemon and a bottle of gin / We'll be in between the sheets 'til the late AM

"Shape of You"

Say, boy, let's not talk too much / Grab on my waist and put that body on me / Come on now, follow my lead

And last, but definitely not least...

"You Need Me, I Don't Need You"

They say I'm up and coming like I'm f--king in an elevator

Genius, Ed. Pure genius.
