Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth helped spread some holiday cheer at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego on Thursday (Dec. 29), visiting patients with Cyrus' Happy Hippie Foundation.

Cyrus and the hospital posted photos to social media, sharing the surprise visit with the world. She also officially welcomed Hemsworth as a "happy hippie."

The pop star launched the Happy Hippie Foundation in 2015 to spread positivity and help rally young people to fight injustice.

On Christmas, Cyrus shared a message to Instagram, encouraging giving the "gift of love and acceptance this year to not only their own family but those around the globe who don't get everything they wished for due to life's unfair circumstances!"

She added the Happy Hippie Foundation "is what I am most thankful for this year because of the purpose it gives me. Without it I would feel so lost and useless on this planet!"
