Darlene Love performs on ABC's The View on Dec. 18, 2015.

The singer says she found a new home for the annual tradition with ABC's popular morning show.

For three decades Darlene Love's "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" has been a staple of holiday television and the singer says she's glad to say the annual event has found a new home on The View

Love had performed the song on for 28 years on CBS' The Late Show. But when David Letterman retired last year, The View on ABC stepped into host. On Friday (Dec. 16), Love returned to The View for a second year and even got some help from the show's hosts and guest Patti LaBelle

"The last time David saw me he said, 'I sure hope someone picks this up.' And usually, people don't want to do something that someone else did for so long, but they are doing it," Love told E! News. "This is my second year on The View, so I think we found a new home."

Love's "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" first appeared on Phil Spector's holiday compilation A Christmas Gift for You from Philles Records (later renamed A Christmas Gift for You From Phil Spector). Since, it's become one of pop music's favorite Christmas songs.

Love followed up that success years later with "All Alone on Christmas" from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York and also contributed to the Jingle All the Way soundtrack. As such, she said December is her busiest month of the year.

"When Phil Spector recorded these Christmas songs, I don't think he had an idea they were still going to be around all these years and that my career was going to be around these songs, which is really great," she said.
