Ariana Grande & Jennifer Hudson Tease Their 'Hairspray Live' Duet, Cast Does Mannequin Challenge
The countdown is on to the Dec. 7 debut of NBC's Hairspray Live event and two of the musical's stars, Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson teased their anticipated duet on Wednesday (Nov. 16) with the perfect Instgram pic. Grande, who is playing Penny Pingleton and Hudson, who will take on Motormouth Maybelle, will get together to take on "Come So Far (Got So Far to Go)," according to People, reprising the song sung by Queen Latifah in the 2007 film.
Hudson also gave a sneak peek at the behind-the-scenes vocal work she's doing with her old American Idol vocal coach, Michael Orland.
So I've been lucky to have worked with this amazing talent twice. 4 years ago she was a perfect princess in Snow White @pasadenaplayhouse then she hit it so big time and I couldn't have been more proud of her. And she deserves it all. Talented. Beautiful. Hard-working. All a perfect combo for a superstar. Now we get to play again everyday doing the @nbchairspraylive and I'm blown away by her still. Just wait people. December 7th. I love u @arianagrande #penny #music #singing #superstar #love #family #youcantstopthebeat #hairspraylive
Grande also got weird with another castmate, Kristin Chenoweth and had fun with newcomer Maddie Baillio.
Also, the cast did an amazing version of the mannequin challenge, or course.
The Hairspray Live! cast also includes Harvey Fierstein, Baillio, Chenoweth, Martin Short, Derek Hough, Sean Hayes and Rosie O'Donnell.
