Watch Lukas Graham Deliver 'You're Not There'' & '7 Years' at the 2016 MTV EMAs
Lukas Graham’s “7 Years” was one of the surprise hits of 2016, and at this year’s MTV EMAs, the Copenhagen group winningly combined the smash with the stirring "You're Not There."
At the 2016 MTV Europe Music Awards, Lukas Graham frontman Lukas Forchhammer belted out "You're Not There" by his lonesome before doubling back and asking for audience participation on "7 Years." During the first song, a string band abetted the piano notes of the song; on "7 Years," the instrumentation was also maximalist, as were the pyrotechnics at the set's conclusion.
“7 Years” was nominated for Best Song at the EMAs, along with Mike Posner’s “I Took a Pill In Ibiza,” Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” Adele’s “Hello” and Rihanna’s “Work.” The Danish pop group was also up for three additional trophies, after “7 Years” peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart earlier this year.
