When you've been a star basically your whole life there's bound to be plenty of "before she was famous" footage. In JoJo case, the tape is endless and the now 21-year-old singer pulls out the old VHS footage for a nostalgic waltz through her memories for the emotionally gut-punching video for the piano ballad "Music."

The latest single from JoJo's upcoming comeback album, Mad Love -- her first full-length studio effort in more than a decade -- cuts together dozens of clips of preternaturally fierce baby JoJo singing her heart out in competitions, TV appearances and living room jams behind heart-tugging lyrics about how music has pulled her through the hard times.

Reminiscing about hearing tension through the walls of her childhood home and feeling lost, Jojo recalls, "Started singing just to get some attention/ Melody to cut through the addiction/ Every song I made turned into wishes/ Some of them came true," she sings in a hush tones about times when her mom cleaned houses and she danced in the hallways dreaming of better times. "Tell me, who would I be without you/ No matter how much we lose every time I bet my life on you."

The song comes to a powerful end with a tribute to the singer's dad, Joel Levesque, who died unexpectedly last year. "Went on the road to make my daddy proud," she sings. "But I lost him and so I sang to the crowd/ My only hope is that he's looking down/ Thinking 'oh my god, my daughter's doing it now.'" Mad Love is due out Oct. 14 and has been preceded by the singles "FAB" (featuring Remy Ma) and "F*** Apolgies" (featuring Wiz Khalifa).
