In the music video for “Cool Girl,” released Friday (Aug. 19), Tove Lo morphs into one seriously fiery "cool girl."

The pop singer dances atop a car in the motel parking lot and even lights her room on fire, pausing the upbeat single to remark, “Pain & pleasure go hand in hand, they say. But no one mentions that pain is really just a path to more pleasure. No more fear.”

The single, released Aug. 4, is a play on the Gone Girl monologue in which the main character, as Lo described to Rolling Stone, has "gone full psycho."

“Cool Girl” will be on Tove Lo’s upcoming sophomore album Lady Wood, which is set for release Oct. 28. The pop singer is scheduled to begin a six-week tour with Maroon 5 on Sept. 3 in Texas.
