Justin Bieber Pays Tearful Tribute to Christina Grimmie on Stage

Justin Bieber broke down on Monday (June 13) night during a show at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg while paying tribute to murdered Voice singer Christina Grimmie. Just three days after Grimmie was gunned down by a crazed fan on Friday following a performance at the Plaza Live in Florida, Bieber honored the YouTube star during an emotional performance of the title track from his latest album.

Laying down on the stage, Bieber dedicated the song "Purpose" to Grimmie, trying not to cry as he ad-libbed, "Grimmie, can you hear me?"

Selena Gomez Honors Christina Grimmie in Miami: 'I Don't Really Understand How This Really Happened'

According to EW, Bieber reportedly met Grimmie, 22, through ex Selena Gomez, whose stepfather was Grimmie's manager. Bieber is the latest singer to pay tribute to the beloved Voice star: Gomez sang Hillsong Worship's "Transfiguration" during a show in Miami over the weekend, Charlie Puth dedicated "See You Again" to her on Saturday night and Fifth Harmony shouted her out at the WBLI Summer Jam on Saturday as well.
