The two tracks convey opposite sides of Toscano, while marking a return for her solo career. "PyRo" is an uptempo electro-pop dance track and "You'll Be King" is a piano-driven ballad, together showing Toscano's range from party starters to tear jerkers.

"'PyRo' is a sexy and electrifying record. It's just so much fun for me to perform. It's a little bit of a new sound for me and I love that people get to experience a different side of my voice and personality," Toscano told Billboard

She continued, detailing "You'll Be King" -- a track she wrote after a breakup that still holds some weight today: "It was a very therapeutic song writing process. It's my most raw and vulnerable song that I've recorded in the last five years or so and I’m really proud of it."

Toscano appeared on season 10 of American Idol and was widely considered to be the front-runner in the competition. When she was eliminated, finishing in ninth place, it was a shock to the judges and the viewing public.
