News of Beyonce’s upcoming stadium trek arrives on the heels of her surprise new song “Formation,” which was released with an accompanying music video on Saturday (Feb. 6), the day before her performance at Super Bowl 50.
The Formation tour is promoted worldwide by Live Nation Global Touring chairman Arthur Fogel and the Global Touring division team, producers of tours by U2, Madonna, Lady Gaga and the upcoming Rock Paper Scissors tour, featuring Sting and Peter Gabriel.
Beyonce has developed into one of the elite touring acts in the world. Her Mrs. Carter World Tour of 2013-2014 grossed $212 million from attendance of nearly 2 million to 126 shows, according to Billboard Boxscore. Following that tour, she launched the On The Run co-headlining stadium run with her husband, Jay Z, which grossed $96 million from 832,769 tickets sold to just 19 shows in North America.
Support on the Formation tour is still to be determined. Depending on the market, ticket prices will range from $250 to $300 on the high end, down to $65. No tour sponsor has been named as of yet.
