Celine Dion Cancels Shows Following Husband René Angélil's Death

Her next scheduled show is Feb. 23

Following the death of Celine Dion's husband and former manager René Angélil on Thursday (Jan. 14), the superstar singer has canceled her Las Vegas performances scheduled for this weekend. 

In a statement on her website, AEG and at Caesars Palace announced Dion's Jan. 16 and 17 dates were going to be canceled. Her next scheduled show is Feb. 23.

"All of us at AEG and at Caesars Palace have Celine and her children in our thoughts and prayers," said the statement. "We are sorry, too, for the fans who have travelled to see Celine perform this weekend." All purchases will be refunded. 

Dion and Angelil recently celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary. They have three children together. Angelil passed following a lengthy fight with cancer.
