See Taylor Swift's Surprise Visit to Young Cancer Patient Ahead of Christmas

Taylor Swift gave a sick young fan the best Christmas gift ever.

In the true holiday spirit of giving, the pop star took time from her busy schedule on Saturday (Dec. 19) to visit 13-year-old Delaney Clements, whose been battling cancer for five years. Swift spent the day taking selfies with Clements’ family and friends, who live in Grand Junction, Colo.

"Literally speechless right now!!!!! My new best friend (as I call her now ) made a special stop from going home to Tennessee and surprised me and gave me the best present/ hugg ever!!" Clements wrote on Instagram. "Thank you !! I love you!! Happy holidays!!"

Swift added,” Merry Christmas Baby @delaneyy.bugg.”

Clements gained a following on social media after being diagnosed in 2010. Swift learned about the young fan after #DelaneyMeetTaylor began trending on Twitter.

The teenager underwent radiation treatment earlier this month in Denver before heading home to begin hospice care, CBS Denver reports. Despite the dreary outlook, Delaney and her mother, Wendy, were overjoyed by Swift’s special visit.

"So happy for my baby girl," Wendy wrote on Facebook. “Thank you Taylor Swift for the best Christmas present ever."
