Don't go asking Katy Perry what Hogwarts house she would be in (Gryffindor, for the record): She's Hogwarts illiterate.

"I know Harry Potter, but I've never read the books, nor have I seen the movies because growing up, I was not allowed to read the books," Perry, who would have been about 14 when the books got big, told People. (Psst, Katy: It's not too late!)

Perry has been open about her ultra-religious upbringing before, and she shared once again that was the reason behind her lack of interest in J.K. Rowling's iconic series.

"Growing up, I wasn't allowed to have any fantastical, enchanting stuff around me," she said. "It's funny that now I'm doing a little bit of a magic-potion-themed perfume."

Perry's new perfume is called Mad Potion, and sounds a bit like Felix Felicis -- not that she would know.
