Selena Gomez is ELLE's October cover star and takes time to discuss her relationship with Justin Bieber in the article.

As ELLE's Mickey Rapkin discusses Gomez's new album Revival's much-talked-about track "Same Old Love" lyrics ("You left in peace, left me in pieces/My body's had enough/I'm so sick of that same old love"), the reporter relates the sentiments to Gomez's former, famous flame.

While Gomez says the song "is not necessarily about a specific relationship," she notes, "sometimes you're stuck in the same cycle. This is kind of my 'forget it' song. I'm sick of all of it."

As for Bieber, specifically, Gomez says, "Genuinely, I'll forever support him and love him in a way that.... We grew up together. I think people want it to be different."

By "different," Gomez means the public is hoping their relationship will conjure more drama than she says actually exists.

"We're too young for that," she explains. "Nobody was married. There was no.... I respect him. And I think he respects me, in a healthy manner."

When asked whether she'd ever get back together with Bieber, she didn't say no. Instead, she replied with uncertainty: "I don't know!"

Gomez also says she is dating and confirmed her previous "thing" with Zedd, but explains, "Finding somebody is not my main focus. I've dated people. I've been on a few dates, which is really exciting. But I've never wanted to get into anything serious, because I kind of did that. I have my guard up. I like to meet people in organic settings. Hanging out with a group of people and meeting through mutual people."

ELLE's October issue hits newsstands Sept. 22.
