Doctor's Orders: Kelly Clarkson Cancels Six Tour Dates to Rest Vocals

Kelly Clarkson has canceled six upcoming U.S. tour dates after doctors advised the singer to rest her voice.

“So bummed that I have to cancel some of my tour dates. This kills me, but doctors are saying I need to rest my voice!” Clarkson wrote in a series of tweets Friday (Sept. 11). “Please know that I never cancel anything unless it's absolutely necessary.”

The canceled dates are as follows: Filene Center at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Va. (Sept. 12-13); MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa, Fla. (Sept. 15); Perfect Vodka Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach (Sept. 17); Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh, N.C. (Sept. 19); and Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, N.J. (Sept. 20).

Clarkson will resume her North American Piece by Piece Tour on Oct. 1 at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa. The stateside trek is scheduled to run through Oct. 17 before she travels overseas for dates in the United Kingdom.

Over the course of the tour, the singer has performed songs by pop superstars like Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and Dolly Parton.
