ASTR Premieres 'It's Over': Exclusive

With new songs up their sleeves and the upcoming release of their sophomore EP, up-and-coming pop duo ASTR are preparing for an exciting time this fall.

Billboard is bringing you the first listen of ASTR's latest track “It’s Over,” featuring rapper Mick Jenkins, below:

ASTR is made up of Adam Pallin and Zoe Silverman, a pair that brings together catchy electronic sounds with vocals that balance between pop and soul.

While the production of  "It's Over" gives it an energetic, fun vibe, especially during the chorus, the lyrics tell a different story.

"'It's Over' is about a relationship turning into a horror story and becoming addicted to the pain of its destruction,” Silverman tells Billboard. “I feel like we both came from the same dark and honest place of knowing you need to leave something that's bad for you.”

On collaborating with rapper Mick Jenkins on “Over,” Pallin tells Billboard it came easy.

"Around the time we did the record we were seeing Mick around a lot and things were picking up for him,” he says. “We'd see him at shows and always hit it off.”

“It’s Over” is a follow-up to the duo’s latest single, “Activate Me." Both tracks are just a taste of what fans will get from the Homecoming EP, set to be released in November. ASTR are going on tour with Ryn Weaver & Holychild this November. Dates will be announced soon.
