Matrimony Video Premiere: Watch The Gorgeous 'Southern Skies' Clip

Matrimony, 2014.

Alt-folk collective Matrimony released its lovely debut album Montibello Memories last May through Columbia Records, and after premiered the band's single "Southern Skies" back in March, we're happy to also launch the gorgeous music video for the song. Check out the "Southern Skies" clip, premiering exclusively on, below:

The song "Southern Skies" captures singer-guitarist James Brown's experience moving from Belfast, Northern Ireland to the American South, and the video demonstrates the similarities and differences between the two lands in lush fashion. Directed by Alan Daly, the "Southern Skies" video features breathtaking natural scenery from both locations, as well as an appearance by the legendary Charlotte musician 'Funky Geezer.'

"We were fortunate enough to be able to shoot in and around Belfast and North Carolina," says Brown, "so hopefully the video helps shed a little light on the inspiration of the song."

After making its debut last year with the EP Montibello Drive, Matrimony worked on its first full-length with producer Jay Joyce. The band will be touring the South this fall, with its next show scheduled for Sept. 4 in Savannah, Ga.
