Miley Cyrus celebrated her third time hosting Saturday Night Live for the premiere of the sketch comedy series’ 41st season on Oct. 3. And as we've come to expect, the first thing out of the controversial pop star’s mouth was about weed.

“Although tonight I am on a seven-second delay -- not a television delay -- it’s just that when you smoke as much as I do, you’re always on a seven-second delay,” she joked, referencing her recent hosting duties at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

Dressed in a brightly colored short skirt covered with psychedelic-looking flowers, Cyrus kicked off the SNL season premiere giving a soulful performance of  Frank Sinatra favorite “My Way" in a tribute to the end of summer 2015.

“I’d like to say goodbye to those who made the summer what it was,” the singer said. “And while we’ll never think of these people ever, ever again, they certainly did summer their way.”

As she launched into the classic tune, SNL cast members appeared as popular flash-in-pan characters from recent months, including the dentist who shot Cecil the Lion, Kim Davis and more. The sketch also featured several comical musical reference, including the Drake-Meek Mill beef, Ariana Grande’s donut-licking scandal, and Lenny Kravitz accidentally exposing his junk during a festival set.

Later in the show, Cyrus performed new songs "Karen Don't Be Sad" and "The Twinkle Song" alongside Her Dead Petz, the singer's groovy new musical project with The Flaming Lips). Watch here.
