Meet Yassou -- the Bay Area’s answer to FKA Twigs, and the art-pop band that should be on your radar this fall. Formerly known as Yassou Benedict, the bold group, led by vocalist/bassist Lillie Bytheway Hoy, arrives today with a new track and video for “Fall Again,” every second brimming with attitude and panache.

The stunning visual begins with Bytheway Hoy’s eyes closed, water dripping down her eyelids, before female bystanders lead her through a series of ritualistic exercises. The cut culminates with Bytheway Hoy’s head tilted against a bright white backdrop, as she slurs, “I swoop around and take you back again.”

The captivating visual launches the band’s forthcoming five-track EP/art project, with each song to arrive with an accompanying visual. For the cuts, the band chose to work with three directors over the course of eight months to create and craft five videos, all of whom are based in The Bay Area: Gary Yost, Amy Harrity, and Peter McCollough. For “Fall Again” though, Bytheway Hoy served as co-director (alongside George Daly), as well as producer/editor.

I was not yet 13 but could easily see a mist between myth and reality. I created a temple within my body. A place for holiness. A place of understanding," Bytheway Hoy tells Billboard of the effort. “My mother alone would spend hours in the bathroom. I could tell even before I could tell time that she was escaping. It is a room that brings you face to face with yourself. Inspired by these dreams and childish wonderings this video is the pure sensation of power crashing into reality.”
