The single's lyrics were pieced together by diehard fans ahead of its August 28th release date.

Justin Bieber’s social media rollout of his new single, “What Do You Mean,” has included a variety of superstars teasing the new single on Twitter and Instagram. On Wednesday (Aug. 19), however, the Biebs took the song to the masses — or, at least, the lyrics to the song.

Nine days ahead of the new single’s Aug. 28 release, Bieber spent Wednesday direct-messaging different lines of “What Do You Mean” to random Twitter followers, who proceeded to understandably freak out. Each message included a clock animation with a different time that corresponded to the lyric’s placement in the song, so Beliebers spent Wednesday collectively piecing together the highly anticipated song’s lyrics.

“First you wanna go left and you want to turn right/First you up and you’re down and then between/Ohh I really want to know/What do you mean,” the lyrics read. Last month, Bieber said of the upcoming single’s lyrics, “Girls are often flip-floppy. They say something, and then they mean something else.”

“What Do You Mean” will preview Bieber’s next studio album, which sources tell Billboard is due out on Nov. 13. Bieber will be performing at the inaugural Billboard Hot 100 Festival on Sunday night (Aug. 23) and playing “Where Are U Now,” his latest Top 10 hit, with Skrillex.
