Weeks after it was confirmed that One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson is expecting his first child with Briana Jungwirth, the 1D member broke the silence on his impending fatherhood — carefully, and tersely — prior to the group’s performance on Good Morning America on Tuesday (Aug. 4).

During the group’s short Q&A ahead of its three-song set, ABC's Michael Strahan said to Tomlinson, “Louis, from one father to another I want to congratulate you on your upcoming fatherhood. So how are you feeling?" The question followed a few softballs about One Direction’s upcoming fifth album.

Tomlinson appeared as if he was not expecting the question — much less on live television — and steadied himself onstage. “Thank you, yeah,” Tomlinson replied cautiously. “Obviously it’s a very exciting time, so I’m buzzing. Thank you.”
