Nick Jonas Thinks 'More Heterosexual Male Artists' Should Reach Out to Their Gay Audiences

Nick Jonas is making an effort to reach out to all his fans, and thinks other heterosexual men in the pop world should do the same. In a new interview with the U.K.'s Attitude Magazine, the all-grown-up JoBro spoke about how his fanbase has grown, and why he thinks intolerance is "heartbreaking."

"There’s a thing of recognizing that you have gay fans, as a male artist," he told the magazine. "I was speaking to some of my very close gay friends as I was making the record, and they told me I should really make the effort to embrace my gay audience as it’s bigger than I might think.

"There should be more heterosexual male artists who are comfortable enough to attract a gay audience and do it in a way that’s authentic," he added.

With regards to recent discriminatory legislation in Indiana, Jonas said, "Intolerance in general to me is heartbreaking. I am happy and willing and ready to do all I can to help break down walls because at this point in time, it’s just unacceptable."
