Cher Defends Rachel Dolezal on Twitter, Says 'Who Doesn't Want 2 Have Blk Cool'
Cher, whose idiosyncratic Twitter presence is beloved among followers, decided to share her thoughts about one of the week's biggest news stories: Rachel Dolezal, the Spokane, Wash. woman who allegedly pretended to be black.
According to this tweet, the pop singer was angry not at Dolezal (as so many have been) but at her parents for "outing" her. "I don't know why she chose her path, but who doesn't want to have black cool?" she said. See her controversial statement below:

Update: Rachel Dolezal has resigned as president of the Spokane chapter of the NAACP, according to a post on the chapter's Facebook page. "In the eye of this current storm, I can see that a separation of family and organizational outcomes is in the best interest of the NAACP," she said in her statement.
