With an engrossing approach to songwriting and a lilting, mesmerizing voice, twenty-year-old Arizona native Zella Day is a pop newcomer worth watching. Day's debut album, Kicker, is due out June 2, but Billboard is premiering the smoldering standout track "High" right now. Check out the exclusive song below:

Kicker, to be released on Pinetop Records/Hollywood Records, includes the previously released single "Hypnotic," and Day's song "Sacrifice" was featured on the recent soundtrack to Insurgent. "High" pushes past the boundaries of Day's recent output and evokes Lana Del Rey's dreamy danger, as the young singer cries "Keep burning, like we're never gonna die" with raging intensity.

"It's a sad reality amongst lovers," says Day of the track, "when the need to seek outside substances becomes the source of fulfillment in the relationship."

Kicker can be pre-ordered here, and Day will perform a mix of headlining shows and support dates for Coasts prior to the album release. The singer-songwriter's next show is scheduled for Friday (May 1) in Norfolk, Va., and after conquering South by Southwest in March, Day will be featured at festivals like Hangout Fest, Firefly and Lollapalooza later this year.
