Amanda Palmer has announced her pregnancy on social media, sharing a nude (but safe for work) photo on Wednesday (Mar. 18). The baby, who is the first for Palmer and husband Neil Gaiman, is expected in September.

In the photo caption, Palmer gave a "super special thanks" to Gaiman, who married the former Dresden Dolls leader in January 2011. Gaiman, a 54-year-old British graphic novelist, author and filmmaker, has three children from his previous marriage to Mary McGrath.

Palmer has released a pair of proper studio albums as a solo artist, and became a crowd-funding pioneer following a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign launched in 2012 in which she raised $1.2 million. Earlier this month, Palmer proclaimed that she could gross more than $14,000 per piece of content she creates -- songs, videos and stories included -- using the crowd-funding startup Patreon. The first new "thing" created is expected to be a new song.
