Shawn Mendes, Vine sensation and budding pop star, has unveiled the title and release date of his highly anticipated debut album. Handwritten will be released on April 28 via Island Records, and will be available for pre-order on Monday (Feb. 2).

The 16-year-old Toronto native has so far previewed the album with the single "Something Big," released last November. The snappy song has peaked at No. 80 on the Hot 100 chart.

Mendes originally gained fame with his six-second music clips on Vine, then used that following to score a No. 24 debut on the Hot 100 chart with debut single "Life of the Party" last summer. That song was one of four featured on The Shawn Mendes EP, released last July.

On Feb. 23, Mendes will kick off his first headlining tour in Stockholm, and has a two-week U.S. headlining run scheduled for mid-April, prior to the release of Handwritten. The teen star will then join Taylor Swift for the North American dates of her 1989 stadium tour this summer.
