Watch Willie Nelson, Cyndi Lauper, Michael Stipe & Others Salute Stephen Colbert with Song

Willie Nelson, Cyndi Lauper, R.E.M’s Michael Stipe and Barry Manilow were on hand to give Stephen Colbert a big-time send-off Thursday night.

They were just a few in a dizzying cast of musicians, movie and media personalities, athletes and politicians who joined in for a celebratory round of "We’ll Meet Again," as the razor-sharp talk-show host called-time on his 10-year stint at the helm of The Colbert Report.

The grand occasion brought together the likes of NBA great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, actors Patrick Stewart, Bryan Cranston and James Franco, movie makers George Lucas and J.J. Abrahams, Ric Ocasek of the Cars, Daily Show host Jon Stewart, and Sesame Street favorites Big Bird and Cookie Monster. And that's really just for starters.

Colbert should meet again with all his famous pals once he takes the throne at David Letterman’s The Late Show in 2015.
