Mariah Carey Will Perform at NBC's Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony After All
Mariah Carey was set to perform live at NBC's Christmas In Rockefeller Center tree-lighting ceremony Wednesday night until she reportedly showed up late to a scheduled taped performance the night before and was kicked off the show. But now she's back on.
Carey was more than three hours late to the taping Tuesday, leaving fans waiting in the cold and rain, TMZ reports. And when she did show up, NBC executives and crew were upset enough to send the superstar packing.
But Wednesday, the gossip site reported the network had a change of heart and Carey would be performing after all. She posted an apology on Twitter following:
Last night's situation was beyond my control. I apologize to all that showed up, you know that I would never want to disappoint you.— Mariah Carey #MC20 (@MariahCarey) December 3, 2014
The 82nd annual NBC tree-lighting ceremony airs at 8 p.m. EST. LeAnn Rimes is also scheduled to perfom.
