Have you ever watched a One Direction performance or video and felt like the guys are singing just for you, and not for anyone else in the whole world? Well, 1D’s clever “Night Changes” music video, which was released on Friday morning (Nov. 21), is designed make you feel all kinds of unique, with the five guys essentially romancing the camera and treating their fair viewers to a point-of-view potpourri of charming adventures.

The five boys of One Direction offer five different dates while staring lovingly at their offscreen subject: Harry will take you ice-skating, for instance, and Niall is ready for a cozy night of board games (he’ll beat you in Jenga, but you won’t feel too self-conscious about it). The “Night Changes” doesn’t rely on the eye-popping gimmickry of the “Steal My Girl” video, instead super-serving One Direction diehards by letting them enact their most romantic fantasies.

And just when the video graces the point of impossible cheesiness, the dates start to fall apart: a policeman pulls over Louis during an afternoon drive, and a jealous ex dumps water on Zayn’s head for taking his girl (you) out to dinner. Even though things go awry, “It’ll never change me and you,” Harry sorrowfully concludes with a bandaged arm at the finale.

One Direction’s new album, Four, is heading toward the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart with a 400,000-plus debut likely for next week. The boys were among the list of winners at this year’s Billboard Touring Awards — click here for more on their big night.
