Watch FKA Twigs Make Late-Night Debut on ‘Jimmy Fallon’
FKA Twigs, one of the breakout indie artists of 2014, can finally cross “late-night U.S. television debut” off of her checklist, as the R&B chanteuse brought her single “Two Weeks” to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night (Nov. 4). Watch below:
The “Two Weeks” performance was mesmerizingly fan-assisted — as in, three electric fans lifted air sculptures designed by Danuel Wurtzel skyward as Twigs performed the track. Twigs sounded downright hypnotic while checking on her lilting fabrics and showing off her many jewels.
Released in August, FKA Twigs’ LP1 has sold 31,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and was nominated for the 2014 Mercury Prize. “Two Weeks” was the album’s lead single, while the song “Video Girl” received an official music video last week.
As Fallon mentioned during his introduction last night, FKA Twigs’ headlining tour in support of LP1 will kick off in Washington, D.C. this Thursday (Nov. 6).
