Ed Sheeran Taps Rick Ross for 'Don't' Remix: Listen

Rick Ross has awkwardly remixed some decisively non-hip-hop fare before -- remember his re-imagining of Lorde's "Royals" last year? Now Rozay is back to help his scat-rapping pal Ed Sheeran with a new version of "Don't," the second single from Sheeran's x album, and the resulting pairing is actually pretty silky-smooth. Listen below:

Once you get over the giggles caused by hearing the "M-m-m-m-Maybach Music!" drop on an Ed Sheeran song, the "Don't" remix proves to be pretty well-organized, as Ross declares, "Gotta keep a bitch in check, microphone check/Killed your boy career, still no arrests yet," before Sheeran delivers the familiar threat, "Don't fuck with my love." Wale, Meek Mill… Sheeran? Maybach's empire should continue growing by absorbing the U.K. troubadour for some folksy goodness.

Produced by Rick Rubin and Benny Blanco, "Don't" continues rising on the Hot 100 chart, leaping 19 spots to No. 50 in its ninth week. Sheeran's sophomore album, x, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart upon its June release.
