Miley Cyrus and the Flaming Lips have continued their unlikely friendship by releasing a short film that is mind-bogglingly, brazenly bizarre, and was filmed while Cyrus was hospitalized with an allergic reaction. Watch the NSFW opus "Blonde SuperFreak Steals the Magic Brain" below:

So, this five-and-a-half-minute video features Moby as an "evil, power-hungry cult leader," as Flaming Lips leader Wayne Coyne tells Rolling Stone; Cyrus as the keeper of a magic brain that apparently "contains the original formula for the drug LSD"; and a blonde woman who steals the magic brain, causing Cyrus to lose her mind and enlist "a burned-face Santa and a lesbian Bigfoot" (again, Coyne's description, not ours) to track it down. The short film is the stuff of nightmares, but then again, dreams are typically more coherent than a series of random shots of exposed breasts, technicolor acid, mushy brains and the Flaming Lips performing amidst cardboard clouds and rainbows.

"This is the video we originally intended to be for a song that has a reference to the drug LSD," explained Coyne. "We were lucky enough to get a couple of hours with a bedridden Miley Cyrus. And even though she was still quite ill, she was full of laughs and great absurd suggestions."

Far-out, dude! Cyrus and Coyne, of course, combined for a performance of "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. Watch Coyne talk about working with Cyrus and Ke$ha at Bonnaroo:
