Carter and Knight first revealed their collaboration on Wednesday's Good Morning America, where Nick & Knight will also take the stage on Sept. 2.
"We're almost pretty much done with the album," Carter said on GMA. "It's a bunch of our pop, rock, R&B and urban. It's all mixed together to create Nick & Knight."
Carter said both the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block support their side project, explaining that they had been recording the album during breaks from their respective groups.
