Richie Sambora, Orianthi on Collaboration Album, Tour at Radio Disney Music Awards: Watch

Orianthi Steps Out Of Michael Jackson's Shadow

Richie Sambora and Orianthi, who are working together on a new album, walked the red carpet at the Radio Disney Music Awards on Saturday (April 26) to discuss the forthcoming project and world tour.

“Ori is unbelievable,” said Sambora, who recently returned from a five-date Australian touring stint with Orianthi. “There’s a bunch of stuff that people don’t know she can do that I know she can do. We write great songs and we’re able to take it on an improvisational level. That’s very important also.”

There’s still no official word on a possible release date, but Sambora, who was sporting a nifty Mickey Mouse ears hat he borrowed from Billboard’s Keith Caulfield, says he and Orianthi will be touring together this summer in Europe.

Asked about their setlist, Sambora joked, “We play Disney songs.” “‘Hakuna Matata’,” Orianthi suggested.
