Ed Sheeran Covers Beyonce's 'Drunk in Love': Watch

Visiting Elvis Duran and the Z100 Morning Show, Sheeran also discusses his new album 'x'

Ed Sheeran has a new album on the way, and the recent Billboard cover star paid a visit to Z100's Morning Show to chat with host Elvis Duran and play a special cover song.

"I did around 12 seconds of it and everyone online was like, 'I wanna hear a full version!'"

The song Sheeran speaks of is Beyonce's "Drunk In Love," which he performed a cover of on his trademark tiny acoustic guitar. Watch the performance below:



Sheeran also discussed his new album, titled '"x" (pronounced "multiply"), which is due June 23.

"Chris Brown's new album is also called 'X," Sheeran says. We're going to have a showdown. I'm not gonna win. That guy's stacked. he's got muscles."

He also talked about the genesis of his new single "Sing," which he wrote with producer Pharrell Williams.

“I made that song by accident," he says. "I made it with Pharrell and just through him really pushing me and him being like ‘Man, you just gotta try this!’ And me being like, ‘No, it’s not going to work!’ And then when it started to work, [Pharrell] was like, ‘I told you!’”

The singer-songwriter also indicated the rest of his new album will mark a bit of a departure from the acoustic-only vibe of his preview album, "+." But fans will have to wait a little longer before knowing first-hand.
