Watch the pop duo perform their hit single "Classic" and discuss their debut album.

After scoring the first Hot 100 hit of their careers, Malcolm Kelley and Tony Oller -- better known as MKTO -- are ready to bring their fans a proper collection of pop-rap tracks. The Columbia Records duo stopped by the Billboard studios in New York ahead of the Apr. 1 release of their debut album "MKTO" to perform a stripped-down version of their hit single "Classic." Check it out below:

After the session wrapped, Kelley and Oller sat down with Billboard's Jason Lipshutz to discuss the forthcoming debut album and the making of "Classic," which has peaked at No. 83 on the Hot 100 chart.

"That was one of the first songs we started when we first signed," says Kelley of "Classic." "We just love the song because it's old-school and has the Michael Jackson and the Prince [references]. We just say it's [about] this classic girl who doesn't need too much to feel good about herself -- that girl you could bring home to mom."

The duo, which met while starring on the Nickelodeon series "Gigantic," has toured in the U.S. with Emblem3 and in Australia and New Zealand as headliners. "MKTO" will feature collaborations with Max Martin, Savan Kotecha and Ne-Yo, as well as a varied pop sound across its 11 tracks.

"I think sometimes with albums, you kind of theme it to a certain sound. With us, we didn't really do that," says Oller. "There's 11 stories, and I think a lot of people are going to be surprised about how many genres we hit on this record."
