On this week's Must-Hear Music podcast, we're looking at pop stars making big breaks from their past. First up there's One Direction singer Liam Payne's Quavo-assisted stripper anthem (not joking) "Strip That Down," not to mention Camila Cabello's Sia-esque solo debut since leaving Fifth Harmony.

But the biggest creative 180 might come from Selena Gomez, whose new single, "Bad Liar," is one of the best and most refreshing pop songs of 2017 so far. Employing a sing-speak approach you might expect from Suzanne Vega and a bass line that interpolates the Talking Heads' "Psycho Killer," Gomez has delivered an addictive instant classic unlike anything else on the radio.

We also look at Linkin Park's surprising One More Light, which eschews some of their heavier sounds in favor of lighter electronic pop, and Local Natives' new single "The Only Heirs."
