Pop Shop Podcast: Olivia Newton-John

Listen to the latest episode of Billboard.com's weekly charts breakdown.

Welcome to the latest episode of the Billboard.com Pop Shop Podcast, Billboard's weekly half-hour audio breakdown of the Billboard charts, hottest music news and year's biggest musical events. Casual pop fans and chart junkies can hear Billboard co-director of charts Keith Caulfield and Billboard.com senior editor Katie Atkinson every Tuesday on the free Pop Shop Podcast, which can be streamed on Billboard.com or downloaded in iTunes (click here to listen to the previous episode on Billboard.com).

On a special movies-and-musicals edition of the podcast, we welcome pop icon Olivia Newton-John as our very special guest! The diva is a legend on Billboard’s charts, having notched 15 top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including five No. 1 singles. Among them: the epic “Physical” (the biggest hit of the 1980s), “Magic," “I Honestly Love You” and “Have You Never Been Mellow.” Of course, the four-time Grammy Award-winner also played the role of “Sandy” in the movie musical Grease, which gave her another No. 1: “You’re the One That I Want” (with her Grease co-star John Travolta).

On the podcast, Newton-John discusses her concert residency show in Las Vegas (Summer Nights, playing throughout 2016 at the Flamingo), the enduring popularity of Grease, her thoughts on Fox TV’s upcoming live staging of the musical (and if she was invited to participate in the production), and how she felt about notching a surprise No. 1 single with her daughter.

In addition, Keith and Katie chat about the 88th Academy Awards nominations (including nods for Lady Gaga, The Weeknd and Sam Smith), who got left out of the Oscar party and their favorite movie musicals ever (including The Sound of Music and Pitch Perfect).
