Ryan Seacrest at iHeartRadio Music Festival 2015: 'I Can't Quite Figure Out How I'm Going to Feel' When 'American Idol' Ends

Thinking about the end of American Idol in May brings up a range of emotions for Ryan Seacrest. “I can’t quite figure out how I’m going to feel when we do the finale, when I look down at the card and announce the last winner of the show ever,” the Idol host said backstage at iHeartRadio Music Festival 2015 in Las Vegas on Friday. “It’s gonna be an emotional night.”

The long-running Idol MC -- who will return for season 15 with judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. -- said the final installment of the FOX show will come full circle in “bringing back big artists who have been on the show, bringing back the stars from the show, the casts on the show and some of the most successful Idols. I think we’ll have a hybrid of all of that in combination with the race to the final and the win.”

And that means fans can expect to welcome back Idol’s original judges. “I’ve spoken with Simon and Randy and Paula and it would be special to have all of us that were in the original cast back for some fun moments,” Seacrest revealed. And what about his season 1 co-host Brian Dunkleman? “I don’t know. I would love to see everybody come back that’s been on the show. I think that makes it special and celebrate the audience’s loyalty to the show.”
