BottleRock 2015: The Mowgli's Share Quirky Pre-Show Rituals & More
Prior to playing the second biggest stage on the first day (May 29) of BottleRock 2015, the seven members of rock band The Mowgli's stopped by Billboard Studio to chat about their quirky pre-show rituals, among other things.
"We hug each other, we sing a little bit, yell and shout -- and do a couple push-ups," singer/guitarist Colin Dieden says, noting that the group has also stopped drinking alcohol before shows. "That makes us infinitely better."
Vocalist Katie Earl noted that it's important for the band to come together before going concerts. "We definitely try to connect as a group and as a unit before we step on stage and perform as a unit," she says. "We find that it does help us kind of come together in front of the audience."
So what's the best part of being in a group with so many members? "My favorite thing about it is that there are lots of people to take bike rides with," Dieden said, adding that he planned to going riding after the interview.
In addition to BottleRock, The Mowgli's are booked for other summer festivals including Milwaukee's Summerfest on June 28. The group is on the road playing other theater shows through the end of June.
