The NYC dance festival will reveal 2-3 artists each day until the full lineup is revealed mid-May.
Electric Zoo, SFX's annual dance music festival in New York City, will return to Randall's Island this Labor Day weekend with headliners The Chemical Brothers, Alesso and Above & Beyond, Billboard can exclusively reveal. To drum up buzz, the event's organizers have launched a campaign called Follow Me to New York, pointing fans to this website, where they'll reveal a handful of artists per day until the full lineup comes out later this month.
All three artists are big gets for the festival, and represent both the new school and old school of dance music. Alesso, one of EDM's fastest-rising stars, is gearing up to release his debut album, Forever, out this month on Def Jam. The LP has already sent one single, "Heroes" featuring Tove Lo, into the pop charts. The Chemical Brothers, who have won four Grammy awards over their 25-year career, also have a new album on the way, titled Born in the Echoes, which will feature a slew of A-list guest stars including Beck, Q-Tip and St. Vincent. And for longtime progressive trance fans, Electric Zoo will be the first time British dance music titans Above & Beyond will have performed in New York since their sold-out headlining show at Madison Square Garden last year.
