2:14 PM -- Mike Hadreas, better known as Perfume Genius, is a total badass while shimmying in fishnets to his masterful Too Bright song "Fool." When he hits that song's high note, his small audience give up a loud whoop.
2:51 PM -- Marina Diamandis, aka Marina & The Diamonds, pops onstage during Clean Bandit's set to perform a new collaboration, "Disconnect," with the British electro-pop collective. Alex Newell joined the group earlier in the set, but Jess Glynne sadly is absent for the set-capping "Rather Be."

3:25 PM -- It's old school vs. new school as Bad Religion takes the main stage, which is adjacent to where rising U.K. stars Royal Blood are rocking out on the Outdoor Theatre. at the halfway point between the two stages, only guitar cacophony exists.
4:52 PM -- Tiesto and Benny Blanco are among the audience for Cashmere Cat, who puts together a wonderfully dreamy collection of dance music and chillwave. A decapitated unicorn head is being offered to the producer from the crowd; he does not accept.
5:10 PM -- While the majority of Cashmere Cat's chilled-out performance leaned heavily on ambient and R&B jams, the Norwegian DJ kept the crowd on their toes with a few unexpected remixes, including a sample of Aqua's "Barbie Girl" which was mixed into his song "Party Girls," which features Ludacris, Wiz Khalifa and Jeremih. A few minutes later, he spun a downtempo rendition of the Spice Girls "Wannabe."
5:35 PM -- Perhaps you were unaware that this is, in fact, a Buttchella recap?
5:39 PM -- We happen upon Yellow Claw at the Sahara Tent while taking a break in the nearby Rose Garden, and they are a surprising delight. The perfect mix of dance music and rap, they drew a very strong crowd for an earlier set.
6:11 PM -- French pop singer Yelle delivers an effervescent, synth-driven performance in the Gobi Tent, but the true stars of the set are her two drummers, who hit synchronized dance moves throughout and even hug before the final song "Completement Fou." The highlight? When they step in front of their kits and shake their booties towards the audience in unison.
6:20 PM -- During an aggressive set of high-octane house music, the Serbian-Australian DJ Dirty South dropped Valentino Khan's "Deep Down Low," which was released just last month on OWSLA's Spring 2015 compilation but has already become a viral EDM hit. If we had to predict which dance music track would be the most-played this festival season, this would be in the running. (Axwell ^ Ingrosso also played it during their headlining set on Saturday night.)
6:40 PM -- Hozier's Coachella debut ends in strange up-and-down fashion. First, the crowd half-heartedly sang "Happy Birthday" to his bassist; then, Este Haim came out for a goofy but ultimately fun cover of the Time's "Jungle Love," complete with Morris Day choreography; and then there was the inevitable closing song "Take Me to Church," the emotional blockbuster that the Irish singer-songwriter probably feels both blessed and cursed to have to perform at every show for the rest of his life.
7:09 PM -- Kylie Jenner shows up tardy and conspicuously to Run The Jewel's set, with festival goers excitedly pulling out their cameras to snap a portion of her face as she heads to the VIP viewing area.

7:30 PM -- The Do Lab is known for bringing a theatrical element to live dance music, and An-Ten-Nae's Saturday evening set had an unexpectedly grand finale. A handful of dancers, each clad in a neon bathing suit and matching flower-adorned hat, emerged from behind clouds of smoke to shower the crowd with thousands of bubbles, filling the stage area from floor to ceiling.
7:55 PM -- The EDM-centric Sahara Tent enjoys one of the day's biggest sing-alongs when Cedric Gervais drops his remix to Lana Del Rey's "Summertime Sadness," which became a Top 10 hit on the Hot 100 chart.
8:06 PM -- An unexpected surprise comes from a quick escape to The Do Lab, where English rapper Jay Prince chases the aggressive tone of the Run the Jewels performance at the Mojave Tent with something a little tamer and more soulful.
8:20 PM -- Gaslamp Killer's career hit a new peak when he appeared in a recent Apple commercial, making beats on an iPad for a ravenous crowd alongside Swedish M.I.A. fill-in Elliphant. But for his performance in Coachella's Gobi tent, he chooses a different approach, playing with a huge band that includes string and horn players. He also has two strangely costumed performers flogging each other in a display seemingly inspired by a Rob Zombie film director's cut.
8:25 PM -- Fitz spotting! Tony Goldwyn, aka Scandal's President Fitzgerald, is seen breaking it down in the Sahara Tent for Duke Dumont, posing for selfies along the way. The eternally youthful actor is easily the best-looking 55-year-old in the vicinity -- at least, until Madonna makes her anticipated cameo later in the weekend.
8:35 PM -- Thirty-five minutes into his set, Father John Misty needs some help from the crowd to "make a very weird dream come true." The folk-rock prankster calla up a young lady from the audience -- her name is Amy -- and has her sit on an elaborate wicker throne, the kind that made her look like the guest of honor at a baby shower. "Amy, are you a keytar fan?" he asks. We never find out the answer. Instead, some women in pasties, white robes and phallic Eyes Wide Shut masks surround her with two massive bunches of balloons, flowers and oversize teddy bears while Misty serenades her with a cover Leonard Cohen's classic ballad "I'm Your Man" on one knee. "Sorry about the nightmares you're gonna have tonight," he tells Amy afterward.
8:38 PM -- Across the field from the main and outdoor stages lies a live art instillation that's a truncated three-story building dubbed the "Corporate Headquarters," where actors on each floor in suits and horse masks do mundane tasks in makeshift board meetings and cubicles. Coachella may be corporate, but this was a crafty bite-back.
9:10 PM -- After unveiling his new, vibrantly colorful stage set-up, Duke Dumont surprises fans by bringing James Vincent McMorrow on stage to perform in the Sahara Tent. The song title isn't specified, but the track will likely be included on his forthcoming album, which is due out on Astralwerks later this year.
9:30 PM -- He may have a plum Saturday headlining slot, but Jack White is playing to the underdogs. "This is for anyone who's been abandoned by their mother or father," he says before one song. He then later dedicated a song "to all the transgendered people in the world."
10:52 PM -- Jack White is politely aware that his nearly two-hour headlining set has stolen attention from several other high-profile sets. "Thank you to Tyler The Creator, St. Vincent, Run The Jewels and everybody else who played today," he says. He then concluded with a brief, pointed Tidal manifesto. "And I hope you realize for a few seconds every single day, everyday that music is sacred. That music is sacred. That music is sacred! That music is sacred."
12:44 AM -- "This is the greatest night of my entire life," the Weeknd tells the huge crowd assembled to see him wrap up Coachella's second day on the main stage. It's easy to see why: this is arguably the biggest, most important show of his career, and from opener "High for This" to Katy Perry favorite "Often" to last song "Earned It (50 Shades of Grey)," he is flawless.
1:45 AM -- The bar has just closed down at the annual Neon Carnival after party, held in a massive Palm Springs airport hangar, but the party has only just begun. Chris Brown and Justin Bieber hold court together in VIP, while the DJ shouts out Rihanna, who is also in apparent attendance. Later, A-Trak takes the decks and Bieber sings along with his new hit, Jack U's "Where Are U Now."
3:45 AM -- Neon Carnival may be winding down, but guess who isn't? Tony "President Fitz" Goldwyn, still turning up to A-Trak's beats with no signs of slowing down - and a helpful selfie photographer to boot. "Hey, why don't we have my friend take this?" he tells one fan, reversing his iPhone's camera settings in the process.
