George Ezra Cancels Coachella Performance Due to Viral Laryngitis
George Ezra canceled his Coachella performance Friday, citing viral laryngitis as the cause to disappoint the Indio, Calif. festival crowd.
Ezra was supposed to perform on the Mohave stage at 2:35 p.m., but tweeted out an apology to his fans about an hour before explaining he wouldn't be playing.
Ezra had canceled a show the day before in San Francisco, as well as shows in Portland and Seattle before.
He said in his Twitter statement he would be taking the next few days to rest, so he'll be ready to play Coachella's second weekend. Currently, he has shows scheduled in Sacramento, Calif., on Sunday, Solana Beach, Calif., on Tuesday and Phoenix on Thursday before returning to Indio. According to his rep, no other shows have been canceled at this time.
From there, Ezra has three more North American dates scheduled before returning to the United Kingdom: Shows in Toronto, Philadelphia and New York on April 20-22.
Fans at Coachella tweeted messages of disappointment over the news and wishes for a speedy recovery:
