You don't have to just imagine what Andre 3000 and Big Boi's smooth-cool hip-hop stylings reimagined by an Arizona pop punk band might sound like. This week's Mashup Monday finds one-time Tempe, AZ high school buddies the Maine doing a faux-plaintive acoustic-guitar-and-tambourine take on Outkast's serious-and-silly track, "Roses."

The Maine, whose brand new album "Black & White" debuted at No. 4 on the Alternative Albums chart, decided to take on the hip-hop stars' song after finding out their own audience was more down with Andre and Big Boi than Limp Bizkit. "Roses" was featured on Outkast's 2003 album, "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below," which hit No. 1 on both the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and the Billboard 200.
