Ozuna

For the second time, Puerto Rican hitmaker Ozuna was named BMI's contemporary Latin songwriter of the year for writing or co-writing eight of BMI's most-performed tracks.

The new awards, announced March 29, bring Ozuna's tally to 23 BMI Awards, including contemporary Latin songwriter of the year in 2018 and contemporary Latin song of the year of 2019 for co-writing the global hit "Taki Taki."

From his collab with Spanish star Rosalía "Yo x Ti, Tu x Mi" to the Latin Grammy-nominated, star-studded smash "China," below are the eight tracks that earned Ozuna the contemporary Latin songwriter of the year award at the 28th annual BMI Latin Awards.

Rosalía, Ozuna "Yo x Ti, Tu x Mi"

For their first-ever collaboration, Rosalía and Ozuna placed their bets on ultra-romantic lyrics paired with urban beats intertwined with Spain's flamenco flairs.

On the charts: The track peaked at No. 12 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart (dated Jan. 10, 2020)

Sech "Otro Trago" (Remix) ft. Darell, Nicky Jam, Ozuna, Anuel AA

In July 2019, Panamanian star Sech recruited Ozuna, Darell, Nicky Jam and Anuel AA three months after dropping "Otro Trago" for the ultimate remix. "It was born because Ozuna and the rest of the guys really liked the song," Sech previously told Billboard. "Everyone sent their parts but the most important part was the chemistry."

On the charts: The track peaked at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs (chart dated Aug. 9, 2019)

"Te Soñé de Nuevo"

Included in Ozuna's 2019 album Nibiru, the reggaeton track puts the artist's romantic style at the forefront.

On the charts: The track peaked at No. 16 on Hot Latin Songs (chart dated Aug. 23, 2019)

Anuel AA, Daddy Yankee, Karol G, Ozuna & J Balvin "China"

The star-studded "China," which reunites heavy-hitters Anuel, Daddy Yankee, Karol G, Ozuna and J Balvin, was up for record of the year at the 21st annual Latin Grammys. "China" is a reimagination of Shaggy’s 2000 hit "It Wasn’t Me" and was produced by Tainy.

On the charts: The anthem peaked at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs (chart dated Aug. 16, 2019)

Tainy, Anuel AA & Ozuna, "Adicto"

Chart-topping producer Tainy recruited Ozuna and Anuel AA for "Adicto," a catchy urban bop over piano melodies, that dropped in August 2019. "Adicto" earned Ozuna his 21st top 10 single on the Hot Latin Songs chart.

On the charts: The track peaked at No. 5 on Hot Latin Songs (chart dated Oct. 4, 2019)

"Baila Baila Baila" (remix) feat. Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, Farruko & Anuel AA
