Colombian singer-songwriter Yeison Jiménez has inked a deal with Fonovisa Records and Universal Music Latin Entertainment, Billboard has learned.

As one of the promising newcomers of the "popular Colombian music" movement, which incorporates Regional Mexican with traditional Colombian music, Jimenez is known for hits such as “Aventurero,” “El Desmadre,” “Tenias Razon,” and “Gracias a Ti” in collaboration with Silvestre Dangond.

“Today is one of the happiest days of my life because I officially signed and I want you to know that this is a big step in my musical career,” Jimenez expressed on his Instagram stories. "I’m happy to be part of this great house where some of the biggest Regional acts have been a part of such as Los Tigres [del Norte], Alejandro Fernandez, and [Christian] Nodal."

Under the new partnership with Fonovisa and UMLE, Jimenez will release his next single "Tu Amante," set to release on Feb. 5. The single, a mischievous and suggestive love story, was written by Jiménez.

"For the Fonovisa team it is very exciting that the most important young artist in Colombia has chosen us as his record company to take his career to the global stage," Antonio Silva, managing Director Fonovisa Disa USA/Mexico, said in a statement.

Silva added, "Yeison Jiménez has a talent like few others in the industry at this moment, and the combination of his personality, vocals, and the lyrics he writes will undoubtedly set him apart among the regional Mexican genre."
